I’ve heard some complaints over the years that the Wizard in the Model Checker Configurator is missing this or that.
Well, you can blame me.
I was cleaning up my hard drive and stumbled upon the photo of some of my earliest work for the Interoperability Tools… mapping out the Wizard. All manual. All on a whiteboard. A very LARGE whiteboard.
It was one of my first tasks working for CADD Microsystems, and probably had my new coworkers thinking I was a little crazy.
No automation… no magic… just a big blank wall and several afternoons plugging away.
I am very curious and excited to see what the future with AI has in store for checking our Revit models. Can we get some Model Checker checksets created with natural language? Will the Model Checker or AVT even be needed with Autodesk Assistant?
I have no answers. Just some questions and a funny photo that I thought I would share.
Fun fact: there is an Easter Egg in the Configurator that still nobody has found after almost 10 years. 🥚 🥚 🥚
(Shoutout to my Configurator and Wizard 🧙♂️ partners-in-crime: T.J. Meehan, AIA, LEED AP and Steve Faust )
