Upper-Lower Case Name Issue in Revit Fill Patterns

Was I the only one who didn’t know about this?

(Is this something I knew about years ago and forgot?)

When working on aligning our templates and apply a naming convention to the Fill Patterns, it turns out that if I need to change “this name” to “This Name” the dialog box will show the change, but when you close it and open it back up, the name reverts back to “this name”. It seems to think UPPER and lower case are the same thing.

That’s pretty annoying.

Actually, that’s very annoying. Especially for folks who think standards and naming conventions are important. Like (hopefully) every BIM Manager out there.

I ended up changing the name to something very wrong… like changing “this name” to “This Name ABC”, closing the dialog, opening the dialog again, then changing it to “This Name”. That got it, but not fun.
